This nationally recognised unit provides students with the skills and knowledge to operate a slewing mobile crane with a capacity up to 100 tonnes. As the machines get larger, the stakes get higher. Our 5-day intensive course focuses on advanced crane setup, complex load chart configurations, and the safe movement of heavy loads in industrial environments.

Enrolment Requirements
Be at least 18 years of age.
Hold a current National High Risk Work Licence for Dogging (DG). (Mandatory prerequisite).
Provide 100 points of Identification (e.g., Passport, Driver’s Licence, Medicare Card).
Have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Possess high-level numeracy skills for complex load and boom calculations.
Wear closed in shoes.
What you will learn
Advanced Crane Setup: Calculating ground bearing pressures and managing large-scale outrigger configurations
Complex Load Charts: Mastering multi-page load charts, including deductions for fly-jibs and various counterweight configurations
Heavy Lift Operations: Developing smooth control for hoisting, luffing, and slewing with high-tonnage loads
Safety Systems: Advanced use of Load Moment Indicators (LMI) and understanding crane safety limits
Pre-Start & Post-Start Inspections: Comprehensive structural and mechanical inspections of 100t class machinery
Site Communication: Advanced radio protocols and coordination with Dogging and Rigging teams
