We focus on the practical "rig-up" skills and safety logic required for a high-paced, high-stakes construction or mining site.
Course Overview
This nationally recognised unit provides the skills and knowledge required to perform basic rigging tasks. This includes the movement of plant and equipment, steel erection, hoist installation, and the placement of pre-cast concrete members. Our 5-day intensive course is designed for those who have mastered Dogging and are ready to take on greater responsibility for load stability and structural assembly.

Enrolment Requirements
Be at least 18 years of age
Hold a current National High Risk Work Licence for Dogging (DG). (Mandatory prerequisite)
Provide 100 points of Identification (e.g., Passport, Driver’s Licence, Medicare Card)
Have a Unique Student Identifier (USI)
Possess a high level of physical fitness and numeracy
Wear closed in shoes

Steel Erection: Safe methods for assembling and securing structural steel components
Movement of Plant: Techniques for shifting heavy machinery and equipment safely
Placement of Pre-cast Concrete: Managing the unique weights and stability issues of concrete panels and beams
Safety Equipment: Installation and use of static lines, safety nets, and perimeter safety screens
Rigging Gear Selection: Expert use of cantilevers, hoists, and winches for complex load movements
Hazard Control: Identifying risks in high-risk environments, including working at heights and overhead hazards

Outcome: Upon successful completion, you will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment and the paperwork required to apply for your High Risk Work Licence (Class RB) with Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ)
